The Sheep that "Almost" Stole the Show

This year the baby Jesus, Addie, was not surrounded by peaceful animals.  But instead was welcomed to the world by a "Wild Sheep" who had a hard time letting her just sit in the manger.   

 Bart was the VIP playing BOTH: the Angel & the Star!!!  He was very pleased with his multiple talents and even told me his goal is to play EVERY part in the Nativity.  I know DoJo will be so thrilled with his goal.

A PINATA!!

At both of the Christmas Parties for Bart's family, they had pinata's and Owen discovered a whole new world of excitement!!  He was the youngest at both parties, so he got to start.  At the first party the bat was a little big for him so we opted to bring his own to the next party.  He had a blast, But watch out when his turn was over, it turned ugly!!!

I spent a little time on Christmas eve running store to store in search of a pinata, afraid that he wouldn't be as excited about what he was really getting as he was about the pinata.  After striking out, I figured it as a good thing.  If he walked in on a pinata Christmas morning, it would've totally trumped everything else.

"Man of the House"

Owen really has turned into quite the little helper.  We get a kick out of all his ways he tries to help us out, some aren't really quite so helpful.

We decided to move some furniture around to make room for the Christmas tree.  So Bart had a few couches to move.  As soon as Owen saw what Bart was doing, he dropped all his toys and ran to Bart's aid.  He put everything he had into helping dad move the couch, he even started copying Bart's grunting noises.

Santa

Santa comes every year to the Eames family Christmas Party, so Owen got to see Santa.  He did really good as long as Bart sat on Santa's lap with him, to give him a little buffer.  After that he stood right in front of Santa just watching him, just close enough that Santa couldn't touch him.  His face was priceless.

"Let's Get Ready to Rumble..."

What better way to close out Thanksgiving day, then a friendly game of dodgeball.  Well, with the competitive boys in my family, "not so friendly" would be more appropriate. 

And Bart was not "messing around," he "Brought It"

Of course, Owen was dying to get in the middle of the action!





Happy Birthday, Little Boy

We decided to throw a party for the Big #1.  It was quite an adventue, but

Poor little guy, got sick about an hour before the party and threw up.  I thought he just gagged on his milk, but I didn't think he was actually sick.  Well, guests arrived and Owen threw up all over the entry.  What a welcome gift to our family who made the trip.  We did the pizza thing, the present thing (Owen was not lacking for any presents) and the 1st bday cake thing.  The cake thing didn't quite go as expected. I think Owen was a little overwhelmed with attention and not feeling good didn't help.  He didn't dig in like I had hoped, instead he cried because we were making him.  He got a little frosting on his hands and didn't want anything to do with it after that.  After we gave up and cleaned him up, that's when he decided to shove his foot into the cake, atta boy.  The celebration was great, and we were so grateful to our family to coming and being a part of his special day.

The sick thing, turned out to be real.  The next day, his actual birthday, was a doozy.  Between all the throwing up and fevers, it turned out to be not that fun of a day (well actually, not that fun of the next week and a half.)  I had no idea a flu could last that long...

The Fastest Year of My Life

It's been a whole year since Owen officially joined our family.  I can't believe how fast this year has gone.  This little guy has changed everything for us and we absolutely love it.  I can't even imagine my life without him and I constantly think to myself "what did I used to do? and what did I used to have to talk about?"  It seems like Owen is our whole world.  He's no longer my baby, but my little boy.  It's been so fun seeing him learn and grow and be so proud of his accomplishments.  I love this little boy more than anything and I'm so grateful everyday that I get to be his mom.  What an incredible blessing he is for me and Bart.  Some of my favorite things about little O:

• His enthusiasm and excitement.  He shows so much expression in his face, I just love it. 
• His curiosity.  (he definitely takes after his good pal George)
• how he and Bart play, Bart knows just how to get him giggling and it's adorable.  Those two are already have something special going on and there total buddies. 
• How he walks, it's kinda like a waddle to help him keep his balance.
• His little belly and skinny legs.  Bart says it looks like 2 little toothpicks making there way down the hall. 
• His smile with his funny little teeth.
• I love it when he wants me to pick him up or just plain wants you. 
• Last night he started to cry while he was asleep so I went in to check on him and started tickling his back, he LOVED it.  Anytime I'd move my hand to be done, he'd grab it and put it back.  It made my night.

I'm so grateful for our family and this incredible blessing that we have.  I'm such a lucky girl.

A Little Gorilla

Our friends found these cool gloves at Costco that they got for their little boy, so we had them get some for Owen as well.  They zip up and go all the way up to the elbow to be sure to keep them warm.  Owen loves to get them on and play.  It's so funny and I think he looks like a little gorilla in thm.

"New & Improved"

Bart and Owen revamped the original "ride" to add a little more speed... The new ride consists of Owen snug in the laundry basket and a belt tied around the handle. This is now what cruises by me, all around the house & I'm amazed at how much speed they've picked up.

When the Ride is over, Bart swings him into a "park" position in front of the TV & Owen then enjoys a "Drive-in-Movie"

Blog Worthy...

and for someone other than me.  Whitney emailed me one day saying Owen had made a blog.  Apparently her sister found it and sent it to her saying "isn't this Owen"

Well Sure enough it was.  It was so fun to see the cute picture of him someone had taken at the Aggie game, I do know the girl who posted it, she's super cute and went to high school with me.

Little Helper

It all started when I grabbed the laundry basket from our closet and started taking it to the wash.  Little O started following, so I figured I'd at least make it a little fun.  I put the basket on the floor and dragged it to the laundry room with him walking behind it.  He thought it was great. 

I planned on leaving it at that.  Well after several rounds of reloading what he'd just unloaded from the washer, I got smart.  I moved the game to the dryer so I could finish loading the washer.  When I looked over, I had to run for my camera.

 What a diligent worker, and it was actully helpful.  It may not be the fastest or most efficient method (one sock at a time...) but who needs efficient when laundry looks this good... 

He actually did a really good job, this is all that was left when he clocked out, not bad.

I think it's official, we have a chore!!!

Better than Disneyland

and a whole lot cheaper...

 This is their game.  Bart lays the blanket out on the floor and little Owen, so excited, cruises over to get on the blanket.  Bart usually has to direct him to position him just right and Owen obeys and then there off.  Cruising around the house.  I just see this big grin whizzing by me. So Fun!!
