A Week of Firsts...

This was a big week for me, I did a lot of stuff for the first time and have truly been expanding my horizons. We had this YW Fundraiser and all the leaders had to cook a bunch of stuff so I truly had to have faith that my recipes would turn out. As we all know that's pretty risky for me.

  1. I made cafe rio sweek pork recipe (with alot of Barts help) and ate it. I'm a chicken girl but I have to admit it's pretty good. It won't change my standard order but it gives us another option for things to make at home. I have to give props to Bart he really took on the project, I couldn't have gotten it all done without his help.
  2. I used my crockpot!! Barts used it before but this was my first adventure with it. Fancy little invention.
  3. I made homemade tomatillo dressing. So I first had to learn what a tomatillo was and then prepare it. We ran out at the event so I didn't get to taste it, but Bart gave it a thumbs up.
  4. I used garlic for the first time. Those garlic presses are way cool, I could keep playing with that over and over again. Each time the garlic squished out it was pretty exciting.

And The Best First of all was our very first ultra sound...

There really is a baby in there. We saw it moving and heard the heart beat. It was the coolest thing. We're just finishing up the first trimester and hope that I start feeling and sleeping better real soon!!!

Ginna what a fun way to announce your pregnancy... hiding it in the midst of all your cooking adventures! I was getting suspicious since you hadn't posted in awhile.

I am way excited for you guys! You will make a great Mom! And it sounds like you will be quite the chef for the little one too! Looking forward to hearing all the baby updates.

I can't wait for the arrival of baby Liechty! You two will be great parents. I am so happy for you guys. If he/she can just sleep through the night from day one, that would be great. My Ginna needs her sleep!
