Road Trip!!

Owen went on his 1st Road Trip!!! To Reno!  Bart had to work in the area and just happened to work it so that we'd be there during the WAC Tournament.  Even Better, we got to visit my sister Millie & her family and meet the newest addition, Addie Mae (Addison Mae).

I was so stressed about a 9 hour car ride with a 4-1/2 month old baby that already gets bored easily.

Well the trip started out like this...

I was so shocked, Owen was a little Angel.  He hardly cried at all.  We'd stop, He'd eat, we'd hop back in the car and he'd play and then sleep.  It was seriously UNREAL!!!

Our First Overnighter with a baby

I was so worried about forgetting anything.  Food, Clothes, Diapers, Medicine, Burp Cloths, Toys and on and on and on.  Good thing everyone packed light, because Owen DID NOT.  We had the pack-n-play, swing, his play gym mat, blankets.  We had Owen set.  Me, however, showed up with no socks.  We had to hit Costco for clean socks.

I have a slight problem of NEVER leaving anywhere with everything I brought there.  When I lived in Salt Lake, I'd go home to Logan and make it all the way back without my purse, wallet, phone (major essentials).  I usually had to make an extra trip the next day and meet my fam halfway to retrieve the essentials. I never made a trip home without a phone call from my mom letting me know what I'd forgotten.  And good to know some things never change... I left my socks & Owen's swimmers home and I left my nursing cover in the hotel room the day we left.  They had to ship it to me COD.  $12.  Seriously, so annoying.

Day 2
We tried Swimming, I think he liked it.  He seemed a little overwhelmed and confused on what was going on.

Owen made us pay for being a little Angel, by being overly tired and fussy.  My sister said it was good for her to see Owen losing it, it makes her feel better when Addie's having a rough day.

DAYS 3 & 4

We had a blast hanging out with my sister.  Me and Owen chilled there while everyone hit the games.  Millie's house was crawling with Babies and Hailey decided she needed one too.  So her little doll went through all the motions me and Millie were going through, too funny.  Her doll went through several of Addie's diapers with the frequent changes.  She concocted a carseat for her doll as well and when Millie picked me and Owen up.  She let us know there was no room for Owen's carseat because her baby needed the space.  Somehow, we figured it out and me and Owen weren't left out in the cold.  Owen even needed to wait to use the Bumbo seat until her baby had eaten all her cereal.  It was a very eventful night.

Day 5
Our little Angel returned for the ride home.  AMAZING.  Now he's set a pretty high bar.  I'm planning on making the trip again in May for McKay's baptism and Addie's blessing.  Lets hope 2 months doesn't change anything.  Fingers Crossed...
