When we first walked up to it, I immediately noticed the place, Bart thinks I'm crazy but I know we were in 90210 history. Does anyone remember the episode where Donna's boyfriend pushes her down the stairs on Spring Break? Well I swear these are the stairs. I felt like I was walking among stars!!
First flight got cancelled so we didn't get there until late at night. Bart was still feeling sick from his 2 week long illness. So I let him have his first class seat :).
Day 2: No noise in the Hotel room
I did some work, hit a luncheon with a Bart with a speaker who served in Guatanamo Bay (sp?) (I didn't know a whole lot about that, but she had some very interesting things to say). Then I hit the pool with my little bag of jawbreakers and a book. My sister called me to tell me about some awsome shopping so I was totally stoked to go that night.
Well, Bart came back to the room totally nautious and with a headache. We finally figured out the problem: His prescription cough medicine was straight Codine and apparently Bart's body doesn't react well to that. And I'm sure it didn't help that he was overdosing as well. 2 Tablespoons isn't the same as 2 teaspoons. And he didn't think it was working like Nyquil so he was taking a little bit extra. In 3 days he'd downed 1/2 the bottle. Needless to say, Tuesday was spent in our hotel room, in the dark with no lights on. I took a trip to Walgreens for some Nyquil and for something to do since reading and watching TV was outlawed.
Day 3: A Water Park By Yourself?
I wouldn't really call it a water park as much as a pimped out pool with slides and a lazy river. But have you ever wondered what it would be like to be at a Water Park, by yourself. Well I was thinking it may be kinda weird by myself because Bart wouldn't be with me. So I knew I'd be floating the river and running the slides by myself. I kept trying to be cool about cruising down the slide with no one to laugh with after. Well, it was sort of like that, except I was totally BY MYSELF, as in no one else was there. There was about 8 lifeguards and me. I was sure being watched out for, there was no worries for safety. So there I was floating the lazy river and running the water slides... by myself. The lifeguards were getting a kick out of it, I was totally there entertainment. Who's the 28 year old kid? Kinda an interesting experience.
Day 4: More Shopping and Dinner with Good Friends
I had to go back. Bart started out with me and then said he was gonna wait in the car, apparently following me around wasn't too appealing. We then met our good friends for some eats at a fun little Italian Place. This is Barts old roomie and good friend "Ricky-Bobby" (actually Eric Jones and the farthest thing from Taladega Nights Ricky-Bobby which is why it stuck). Ricky-Bobby and his cute wife Angela met us for dinner and we had so much fun. I can't wait to go back and get to spend more time with them.
Day 5: Let's go home
Bart has travelled so much for work and business that he often gets upgraded seats in first class. Since he got it on the way there, I got it on the way back. There bigger seats, more leg room, sometimes they have individual TV sets and they are totally on top of giving you drinks and treats. I was totally excited for my seat and had my book and headphones ready to go for the flight. Well next to me was a talker!!! When I first sat down and he asked what we were doing in Palm Springs, I told him my husband was working. Then he said: "OHHHH, that's why your sitting here, you traded seats" apparently my graphic T and baggy jeans didn't scream 1st class. I heard all about all his travels all over the world, his wife, his house, his dog, his honeymoon, the ice on their driveway, Mexico City....... Clear until we landed. I didn't even get to enjoy the luxurious seat. My neck was strained from having to look at him while he talked. Seriously Sir, Do you honestly think I cared? Bart thought it was hilarious, "the whole purpose of first class is to relax."

Ginna-
Your trip to Palm Springs looks like it was a lot of fun except for the night Bart was dizzy. Have a fun Birthday dinner today. Wish I could be there.
