Bart and I were in Palm Springs and got back on Friday, since we hadn't been home for a week we didn't have any food to fix dinner with, so we hit up one of my favorite spots... El Sol. You know how people ask questions hoping that the person they asked will ask them back. I quiz Bart all the time on favorite movie, favorite meal, if he had to take one thing to a desert island what would it be? Anyway, Bart usually just answers and leaves it at that, thats usually ok with me because I have a million to go. Well Bart started this little question game.
Bart: "If you could get rid of one article of clothing of mine, what would it be?"
That wasn't hard, he has this north face T-shirt that is practically see through, totally grubby. I'm a little sensitive to that shirt because when we first got engaged, I had a work Lagoon Day Party to go to and he was coming to meet all the people I work with. He had a jacket on so I didn't know before hand what was underneath. At Lagoon, the jacket came off and low and behold this thin grubby T-shirt is what he was wearing when I introduced who finally got me to commit. Not the impression I was hoping for.
Ginna: "that north face T-shirt, every time I fold it I wanna just throw it away"
I sat there for a minute, then I asked it back. Bart sat there for a second then said ..."I don't know."
Another second went by and he said...
Bart (kinda sheepishly): "well you know that t-shirt that has a deer on the front"
G (a little shocked): "the one I'm wearing???"
Bart: "Oh yep, thats the one. I'd get rid of that."
Real subtle!!! Well that triggered a whole lot of follow-up questions Bart was not prepared to answer.
So much for discretion. For starters, its a graphic T and no one even knows its a deer on the front, its so muffled with other graphics, and trust me no ones looking that close. When I bought it I thought it was cute and didn't even realize the graphic had a deer. I just knew it didn't say anything crude, lame, and didn't have skulls or peace signs on it. I like the shirt because its comfortable, it has a good sleeve length, just past the elbows. Great for hanging out, and long travel days. Real nice, Bart pulled a "G" on me. Thats my trick, he must be learning a few things from me.
FYI: I will still wear the shirt, probably when he's not around.
Next time, I expect the subtle hints to come from a friendly email :)

This story was really entertaining and educational at the same time. I actually just took a bunch of Josiah's clothes to the D.I. without asking him. Luckily he doesn't notice. ;)
Ginna-
Laughed so hard.I think I know what shirt it is. CT hates my christmas tree pj pants.Remember all us girls had them. Wore them through pregnancy with McKay adn then there were holes all in them. Angie gave me her's so I'm still wearing them. They have lived on way toooo long.
ha ha I have a graphic tee that has a polar bear on it.... and I didn't know there was bear on it until like the third time I wore it and someone pointed it out :) So... I feel ya...
I love that shirt story. Funny husbands...at least he was TRYING to be careful and nice about it. Evan would be like, "Why are you wearing that? It's ugly." :) Maybe after you two have been married four years...
Hi Ginna- I work with Bart and he was telling me about this post so I had to read it. I am laughing so hard! I need to see a picture of this shirt!
I'm officially now blog stalking you. Have Bart tell you I'm cool...
